All you guys might seen an amphibian car in a James Bond movie or some other Hollywood movie. Amphibian cars are still a research concept, even big motor giants fear of those things as it involves huge cost for its waterproof fabrication and heavy horse power engine to cope up in both land and water.

But its an amazing fact two groups of our Indian students has successfully crafted a couple of variants of car as their academic project. They have made those thing which cost them as lower than Rs 35,000.

Those guys are none other than Engineering students in Prist university, Tanjore. With the help of Hi-tech Project industries, Rajendra Kumar, Nitesh Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Abhishek Raj, Roopak Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Yadav and Chandrakanth joined together into a single team turned them into a real garage boys designed a amphibian with an electric motor, which is powered by solar panels. It is capable to carry two persons and hike to the speed of 30 kmph on road and 15 kmph on water.

Another variant, designed by Alok Kumar, Amith Kumar, Ananth Kumar and Ajay Kumar, which is driven by 110 cc engine capable of running either in petrol or LPG. Its weighs to 135 kg and is capable of speed up two person to 50 kmph. Its mileage is about 65 km per litre of petrol and in LPG its about 110 km per KG.

Both the variants are having a well designed suspension and gear system" said Jayaraj, Murali and Balasundaram, researchers at Hi-Tech Project Industries.

District collector witnessed their work and got a demonstration from those young inventors on January 24,2012.
